Sakhi and Daniel got married in Tuscany in one of the best wedding venues in the Tuscan countryside; Gaiole in Chianti, near Siena.
They sent a nice leaflet explaining the Indian ritual to all their guests. We also enjoyed having it and understanding the original meaning of all these traditional rituals: Baraat Arrival, Samayu (Aarti), Shri Ganesh Prayer, Kanyadaan, Hastmelap, Havan, Mangal Phera, Saptapadi, Sindhoor & Mangalsutra, Ashirvad, Vidaii.
They start the Hindu traditions the day before the ceremony with Mehndi, during which the hands and feet of the bride and women are covered with henna tattoos. The day of the wedding was an explosion of colour from the Hindu ceremony under the majestic Mandap, decorated with fresh flowers, to the colourful Hindu reception with a beautiful view of the towers of the Meleto castle.
And finally, crazy dancing with all the typical Indian songs.
The following day the ceremony took place in a traditional European style: ‘White Wedding‘
